    Guess Who's BACK!

    Tokyo Love Cash 11.4.06

We're Back! I know, it's been too long. A ton has happened since you have last heard from us. A few changers, a few strangers. Ok, just one. We have a new bass player that joined the band. We have been on lock-down for a few months getting the recipe just right. This Saturday night, come on down to the St. Albans Bay Boathouse, and help welcome Rocky into the band. Poor guy, has no idea what he got himself into. But from what we can tell, he can Hold His Own. More on Rocky coming soon!

But first things first, and this is your first chance to catch the new line-up, some new songs, a new attitude, the new Tokyo Love Cash! We will be joining our great friends Radiochild, and Dave Evans with the Expansion. The Cash Crew goes on first, (8:30pm) fallowed by Radiochild. The Expansion closes the night, and the bar.

Come out early! We can't wait to see you! We have missed you all!

    Winter Chill

    It's Cold Outside

It's that time of the year in Minnesota, that everyone stays inside. Chilling out has been easy. The band has started chilling together again, and signs of life are sure to fallow. No real news to announce, but there is a rumor of a small show possibly at the begining of March. A hand full of local bands, a great restaurant, and a possible full day packed of music. It sounds like it could be the warm up we have all been waiting for. We will be sure to update as soon as all the details have come in. Till then, stay cool everyone!

Opening of Tokyo Love Cash My Space

One of our first posters made for us.

Greetings, from our hiatus! While we have been gone, we have all kept pretty busy. The band will be getting together for the first jam of 2006, in the next week. We are sure it won't be too long before we start announcing a few dates for the new year, but for now the band is just looking forward to cooking up something new for our second year together. (Our terrible two's.) But before we can move on, we would like to look back for a bit.

    The News

With that said, we are happy to announce the opening of our new blog. Every band in the world has jumped on the bandwagon of MySpace, (and although we are nothing close to conforming with the rest of the scene,) it seems that we would be selling our friends short if we didn't offer you all some of the features they can give us. You may have noticed that we are a blogging band, and the technology that is at our fingertips is very exciting.  We are very proud to be one of the highest rated band blogs on the net. We have decided to open another blog on MySpace to further our reach on the information super highway. We really are not sure what the function of this new space will be, but we do incourage you to check it out.

For now, we have started the blog with a look back at the art work, that has helped make the bands identity in the last year. Within the next few weeks, you can expect to see some more work from our most talented friends, so be sure to check back regularly. In the near future, we hope to take advantage of the technology that MySpace has to offer, and give all our friends an opportunity to download some of our music for FREE! (Something we are unable to do within the MSN program, but are very happy to share with all of you.) Also, be sure to check our 'Friends Section,' on MySpace, for some of our favorite bands, and new friends we have met within the community.

Not too worry, we are very comfortable within our web page here on MSN, and we are not planning on moving at all. We are just hoping to broaden our horizons in the new year, and this is a good start. You may be able find most of what you need here, for all of our future news from the band, but if your looking for something more, be sure to check out The Tokyo Love Cash Blog on MySpace.

When you open the site, you will be directed to our home page. Look around, and then click on, 'View all blog entries,' to review all of our new entries of our new site. Do you have your own space on MySpace? Be sure to add us as a friend, and we will return the favor. If you have any problems at all, drop us an email and we will be more then happy to help.

Thanks everyone! We will be sure to keep updating ,while we are on our hiatus, to keep you all up to date with news of the band. We hope you are having a great year, so far, in 2006!

Here is the link to the new blog on MySpace,

    We will update again soon.

Talk to you all real soon,

    Postcard from Mt. Hiatus

    Sorry, we are out.

    You,

With the new year, comes a new break. Wish you were here! After the holidays, it's time for some much needed rest. Maybe some boot hockey, rest the liver, watch some movies, return some movies, whatever it takes. The music never stops though, and who are we to try to stop it? We're sure it won't be long before the melody calls us all back again. Brings us around, to get us down.

We hope that everyone had a safe and happy New Years, and the whole holiday season for that matter.

    See Ya Soon,

    Tokyo Love Cash

    December 29

A Festivus for the rest of us!

    Oh, What a Night!

     Tokyo Love Cash Christmas

I huge thank you to everyone that helped make such a special night for the first annual, Tokyo Love Cash Christmas. We all had such a blast! Thanks to Keisa for all the photo's of the night, Angela for the art work, and everyone that came out to Hopkins for the party!

    Radiochild

The night started out with a great set of Panic tunes by, Radiochild. They came up and threw down, getting the night started with a bang! A huge thanks to them for such a tight set, and an unforgetable, C. Brown. Midway through their set, Fowler stepped in on bass. The first of many special guests of the night. The band really set the bar, for the rest of the night's music.

The second set of the night brought, Tokyo Love Cash to the stage with a cover of Elvis Presley's, Clean up your own Backyard, and a brand new original, Breakdown. The holiday spirit was easily apparent, everyone was feeling good!

After a quick break, and it was much needed for The Professor, (since he had played with both bands thus far,) came a reunion of Fiasco. Rob, Adam, Tom, with former band mate and great friend, Shawn, stepped up to play some old Fiasco songs with new flavor. It is safe to say that Shawn hasn't missed a lick since he had last played live. Another big thanks to Shawn for helping us make a night to remember.

Santa Clause is coming to town!

A short break was covered by Fowler, Dan, Shawn, and Adam on the key's, with a great musical jam. The Professor had enough of breaking, and Tokyo Love Cash went on the stage for the final set of the night. Time 2 Leave, My Street, Rip Off, and Fresh Cocktails, never tasted so good! It was clear that the cocktails had been flowing, and the band played like they were in fear of not being able to cover their bar tab. The Santa hats, and Elvis shades brought us to the pinnacle of the Christmas celebration. The night was getting away from everyone, and it was time to bring back some guests to the stage for a special rendition of, Little Ditty. Somewhat a tradition in the Cash Crew, with alternate lyrics, changing the song to, Christmas Ditty. With Shawn back on the stage with the Cash, the song brought everyone to the dance floor. Underneath the Mistletoe, within a melody where we can play.

It was late, but it was the perfect time for another rare Tokyo Love Cash song, Bar Fly. Seldom does this song see the light, unless the drinks have gotten the best of everyone, and this rendition was pure drunken debacle. With another special guest from Raised on Rhythm, Rob sat in on the bongo's. The crowd never gave up on the dance floor, truly making it a Festivus for the rest of us.

Oh what a night, indeed! Everyone from the Cash Crew would like to thank all of our friends and family for making this Christmas party the tops! The band could not ask for a better show to cap off an unforgettable year! A special thanks to all of our special guests, Radiochild, Fowler, Shawn, and Rob Taffe from Raised on Rhythm, for helping with our entertainment needs. We are back on our band break, so till we see you next year, we wish you all the very best in 2006!

So bring all your friends and your holiday face!

Forget about the snow, don't worry about the ice,

Plenty of music, it's going to be wild,

With Tokyo Love Cash, and Radiochild.

Fiasco too! And it's been so long,

Since we heard Shawn turn up, and sing us a song.

So come out early, and Cash out late.

    Holiday Show Update

I know, a stupid winter scene

    Warming up to Winter

Jack Frost is nipping everywhere! With the change of seasons, comes another change in the blog. Welcome to winter everyone!

We are working on our holiday show, and our happy to keep you all up to date with us. We will be playing Decoy's on Dec. 17th. It's going to be a night where we can get all of our friends together in a huge holiday party, and you don't even need to bring a hostess gift! Help spread the word about the Tokyo Love Cash Christmas! We will be sure to make it a red hot night, to warm your frost bitten bones.

Your friends will be a plenty, including special guests Radiochild. We are very pleased to have our great friends from the band helping us spread the holiday spirit. Radiochild is Tom, Jason, Dan, and our very own Professor, you may remember they threw down a couple tunes with us in October, as Full Circle. Now they are back, with a full set, and a new name. Plenty of Panic tunes to meet your Panic needs! Radiochild opens the night, so be sure to come early and Cash out late, with two sets from Tokyo Love Cash to fallow.

We are also working on bringing up some other special guests throughout the night. We will be sure to spread the word when we have all the D's, (that's lingo for details, everyone,) worked out. So stay tuned!

    Mark Your Calenders!

    Pharmacy is Open

    Bacon Drug

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We had plenty to be thankful for. And on Friday night, we were very thankful for the Pharmacy getting back together for a show at Haskels. It was a night to remember, Sharky got back together with his old band to rip the roof off of the Port of Excelsior. The band had not lost a lick, and sounded great. If you missed it, we are sorry. If you were there, you know what everyone else missed.

After the show, some of the Cash Crew had a late night jam at the music store a few blocks away. A huge thanks to Dave, for opening the place, and suppling the means for the music. Songs like Memphis, Wintertime, and 4 Cornered Room never sounded like that before! And never will again! It was a great night in Excelsior!

Will we ever see another Pharmacy show? Although nothing is planned, let's keep our fingers crossed. And speaking of old bands, does this mean Fiasco may be making an appearance anytime soon? You will have to wait and see!

    Special Thanks!

Hello Everyone! We had a blast at The Cabooze. We want to thank the few of you that made it out that night. We also wanted to thank the boys from God Johnson for the invite, and the upmost class they showered the whole band with. They absolutely rocked the night away, and we can't wait to hear the new album! Thanks Boys!

    Big Thanks!!

With the begining of our sophmore year, we want to take a minute to tell everybody how much we have apprecitiated everything. We have had a blast this past year, and we would like to thank everyone for their support and help throughout. A huge thanks has to go out to Keisa, Angela, Patrick, Curt, Brian, Lis, Sean, and Phil, everyone who is a part of the Cash Crew. We also want to thank Wade, Jeff, the boys from Raised on Rythme, Steve from SMW productions, Jason Fladager and the rest of the God Johnson crew, every sound guy that made us sound better, everyone that we forgot, and all of our friends and family. Without any of you, we would still be a basement band.

The show at The Cabooze marks the end of our first year as Tokyo Love Cash. It also marks the begining of the bands break, to regroup, to rest, and to start cooking up some new flavors. We apologize for the break. But we promise to come back bigger and better!

    The Least We Can Do!!

With that said, we would like to tip our hats to all of our friends with a special show for the holiday season. Yes, one night in December we will take a break from breaking. A special thank you from us to you, a night to bring all of our friends and family together for the first Tokyo Love Cash Christmas. It is still in the planning mode, but we do have the place and date. Everyone, from the Cash Crew, is happy to announce that December 17th, at Decoy's we are going to throw a party! A night where we can all get together and celebrate the holiday season.

The details are still to come, but we hope to make it a night to remember. Stay tuned everyone! We will be sure to share all the D's as they come in!

    Cheers

    Happy Birthday to Us!

    Wed NOV 9TH,

    The Cabooze!

Live at The Cabooze! Nov. 9th 2005

     Cash-Eve!

They say it's your Birthday! Bring on the terrible two's! Wednesday's show this week at the Cabooze marks the bands first year together. And what a year it's been. The first show as Tokyo Love Cash was played this week, last year. Five guy's, a bunch of friends, and a fist full of luck has gotten us to The Cabooze,, opening for God Johnson. 'Higher Ground,' indeed! What a better way to celebrate then with all of our old friends and some new, on the West Bank in Minneapolis. A huge thank you, everybody! We're excited to turn the page, and we hope to share this moment with all of you. It's Cash Eve, it's time to celebrate, to turn up! Playing with our new friends, God Johnson. Doors open at 9pm, and music starts at 9:45. If you want to come down early we will be hanging out at The Joint, next door after sound check. Come early and Cash out late!

Then tune back here to cyber school for the year in review, and an exciting annoncement for the holidays. Till then, do you remember the show last year at this time at Caddy's? Some new music has come and gone since, but we are sure to play the ones that have made it down the road with us. Come and get it everyone! We don't serve seconds.

Our first show as Tokyo Love Cash

      We're 1 Year Old!

It was this week, last year.

    November 04

Hope to see you at The Cabooze

Wednesday, November 9th marks the bands first anniversary! And what better way to spend it then at The Cabooze? Huge round of applause for all our friends and family for the support over the year, we mean years, we mean since we have been able to walk. And a special thanks for the ones that helped out before THAT too! Love, kisses, dreams, and the best hands in poker, or any other sort of gambling your life has to offer, all of it, wrapped into the greatest THANKS of them all. Then top that off with us racking your lawn and cleaning out your gutters, as just a small example of our appreciation for everything....,,,,,

What? You still want more? Ok, we understand that. A year in review! It's the least we can do, but it's going to have to wait. We are not ones to count our chicks before they hatch, so we are not going to glorify this moment till it's past. Or maybe we have a sense for the drama, and we want to drag this out a bit. Keep you coming back for more.

We know what your thinking; how did Adam get so tall? But that's besides the point! What we need to concentrate on is geting everyone down to The Cabooze, this Wednesday night. We play at 9:45, way before Rob's bed time, and way before you can make an excuse on why you can't go. Work- smerk, kids-skids, house arrest- smouse arrest, we don't want to hear any excuses!  Whatever!

All kidding aside, please come down to pretend to the guys in God Johnson that we have friends. Make believe that you like the music and we are pretty cool to hang out with. Don't make our parents call yours! Because we may still rack your lawn, but we're pretty sure we won't clean your gutters unless we see you there! You have been warned.

    Our Heavy Hearts

    TextOnMouseOver

    Ernie

We really wanted to thank everyone that came out to Decoy's for the show. We had a blast! It was loud, fast, and fun. We also wanted to give a special thanks to the band, Full Circle. For stepping up and throwing it down! Very exciting night, and we look forward to inviting the boys from Full Circle back on the stage in the near future. Also a big thanks to Andy for sitting in with us on the saxophone all night. Cheers to you all!

We wish that we could end this on a happy note, but everyone within the Cash Crew is saddened with a heavy heart this week with the loss of one of our own. Ernie, a family dog, passed away earlier this week. In our eyes, one of the most beautiful dogs in the world. For those of you that knew Ernie, knew how special she was to us all. Ernie was a music fanatic! Always right there in the middle of every jam. She was known for loving loud music, and to sit in on the drums every once and awhile. Not too many dogs have had the patience to listen to our loud learning curve over the years, but Ernie believed in everyone that stepped in to play. We will miss you Ernie! Our thoughts go out to Mike, Keisa, and Ernie's best dog friend Bert. She will always be part of the music and happiness we will make in memory of her. We Love You, Ernie!!!!

    Poster for Decoy's 10.22.05

Guess what? We're gonna have a night out in Hopkins on the 22nd. We have a whole nights worth of Tokyo Love Cash ahead of us. Starting at 9pm, on the 22nd, the band will be playing their first three set night since spring. Somebody better call the band and tell them to show up early! Don't you be late either! Decoy's has always been a great host to all of our friends this summer, and this night is guranteed to be the same. We look forward to seeing everybody out and about. Hopes for some new songs and suprises during a great fall night, full of music and drinks. Spread the word! We're going to have a Fall party at Decoy's in Hopkins, on October 22nd.

Don't be scared, it's not Halloween yet!

Dog Days of Summer part 3

(Don't even bother reading Part 1 or Part 2. I warned you not to click on them!)

I was desperate! I had been hanging out with the band for three weeks trying to get a story. All I had learned was that Tokyo Love Cash never practiced, they never wanted to talk about their music, and I was now convinced that they didn't even know what I was talking about, when I would bring these things up.

Today was going to be spent writing songs, and I was not invited. I thought that this was my only chance to hook into some sort of substance for a story. I decided to hide a mic in the studio. I had to! Part three picks up with them in their basement studio...,

Mike (aka- The Professor) I have a great idea for a new...,

Adam (aka- Kouch) Forget it, we don't need it. The music industry isn't about music anymore. We need to be hip to the gauze and ball-bearings.

The other Mike (aka- Sharky) What?

Tom (aka- Lightning) You mean the trends, right? One of us should date Kate Moss!

Adam (aka- Tall & Sexy) Exactly! We need some drug addiction! We need some tattoo's, Jack Daniels, jet black hair, pale complection, parachutes, jump suits, pole vaults, and....,

    Mike (aka- Sharky) What?

Adam (aka- Rob's lawyer/doctor) Please, you need to listen to this. We need motorcycles, mustaches, motorcycle handle bar mustaches!

Mike (aka- The Professor) Hey, has anybody seen that Happy Days episode where Fonz tries to jump over all those....,

The rest of the recorded writing session was as irrelevent as anything else this band does. Not a single instrument was played. I was starting to believe that some other people were writing their songs and performing for them. That their wives and girlfriends were being paid, just to help with their basic daily needs. Believe it or not, some results did come of their meeting. I joined them again the next week, as Tom pulled up, on what he calls, 'his hog.'

    Lightning on his Kickin Hog!

Mike (aka- The Professor) Tom, where did you get the Mo-Ped?

    Tom (aka- Easy Rider) It's a M-O-T-O-R-C-Y-C-L-E!

Rob (aka- well..., Rob) What 15 year old ripped you off?

Tom (aka- Hells Angel want 2 be) I picked it up off the side of the road, on my way back from up north this last weekend.

The other Mike (aka- Sharky) How fast does it go?

Tom (aka- the coolest one in the band) I got it going 55 on my way home from picking it up!

Mike (aka- The Professor) Yeah, strapped to the bed of your truck!

Just then Adam (aka- Big Slick) comes outside to see what everyone is laughing about.

Adam (aka- The tall guy that plays bass) What the h*ll is this? Just when I thought that this band couldn't get any lower. Just when I thought that this band couldn't get a clue. Just when I thought this band was totally helpless, Tom comes.....,

The whole band stops laughing and gets completely still and serious.

Adam (aka- whatever you want to call him) and totally REDEEMS US! This is Great! We're now a biker band! Lightning, you really came through for the band! What a bike!

I could not believe it! The whole band started cheering and high fiving each other. It was like they just got signed or something. The rest of the night was spent drinking Budwiser and talking about bringing the bike to the next gig at the Cabooze. To park it right up front, right next to all the Harley's at one of the biggest biker bars in Minnesota. I GIVE UP! Tokyo Love Cash is a bunch of LOSERS! There will be no part 4 of my interview! I am done. I am going to find a real band for a story. These guys are pathetic!

Rob (aka- who cares!) Hey, Lightning! Can I barrow the bike? I have some videos I have to return!

    * I QUIT!
    October 01

    Fall Dates Confirmed

It's starting to look like fall around these parts. So we decided to change the blog around a bit. Were not impressed either!

The band is putting together a few dates for the next few months, and we are hoping to have some more to post in the weeks to come. Everyone is very excited to announce that God Johnson has invited Cash back to the Cabooze for a date in early November. If you missed the show in August, here is your chance. It was a great night, and we look forward to a repeat performance. November 9th, so mark it on your calender.

Were also happy to announce a full night of Tokyo Love Cash at Decoys, on October 22nd. It's a chance for the band to dive deep into some rare songs. Tokyo Love Cash will be playing three sets. No opening band. Most bands will tell you that it's like a marathon playing that long, but they are up for the challenge. Will we actually see Tokyo Love Cash play any cover songs? Don't hold your breath, but I'm sure that there will be a few suprises.

    October 22nd, Decoy's in Hopkins

November 9th, The Cabooze in Minneapolis

We look forward to some more dates, but the next show will be October 22nd, at Decoys. We look forward to seeing you in downtown, Hopkins.

    The Photos of Phil

Everybody knows Phil, right? You know, the bass playing, poker sharking, music loving, womenizing, guitar slinging, owner of 1 Eyed Fish Production, official midwest photographer of veteran band, The New Orlean's Radiators, still finds some time to take some pictures of our little band, all he wants to do is fish, great friend to all of us, almost like a part of the band, straight up pimpin, (did we forget something?), Play-ah, Phil. Yes, that one!

Good, I'm glad we got that straight! Well, Phil was nice enough to make it out to the last show of ours at The Fine Line. And wouldn't you know it? He brought a camera.., or two! THANKS PHIL!!!! His talent speaks for itself, but declined an interview. ( hmmm, I wonder why? We are known for our professional interviews.) So, we are speaking on behalf of Phil's talent, when we say its speechless. Check out our new photo album of his, from the show on June 29th. Then check out some of the rest of his work he has done for us in, Phils Gallery of the photo section.

Why stop there? Go see some of his other eye candy that he has done, of some great bands, at his web site. Use your magic mind powers to jump to his web page now. What are you waiting for? Ok, if your that lazy, just click HERE.

Do we have to remind you that all photos are the property of 1eyedfish, and can not be stolen, lifted, borrowed with no intention of giving back, used, trashed, or smoked, without permission from him? Do we? Cause we thought you all would have gotten that straight from our warning about Keisa's photographs. Trust me, we have plenty of paper, and plenty of time to hunt you down and paper cut you! Don't test us! Wait, feel free to try. We almost like the feeling of being angry. Yes, you wouldn't like us angry. But we would! Wait, that makes no sense. I can't even remember what we were talking about...,

Oh yeah, don't steal our stuff!

Dog Days of Summer part 2

Most of you have been sitting on the edge of your seats waiting to read part 2, of the now infamous interview with Rob. It was like pulling teeth to get him to sit down. He was ranting and raving that part 1 was enough. That he poured his soul into that interview. What more could the public want from him? It was days later, I learned that it was just a fear of over exposure. The band was in need of some rest, coming off of their late summer break. Promises of less personal evasive questions,(?) and a Capri Sun. We get back to the interview already in progress.

    Q. Life is like a summers evening, is life like you feel right now?

    Rob- Trick question! Next!

    Q. Wow, you finished that Capri Sun pretty quick! Can I get you another one?

Rob- D*mn, F*&%, C&#@, Motha P#%$, son of a beooootch! I know your aware that your not supposed to ask me personal questions, cause I made you write it down. It says it right here! Right under the list of things you are not allowed to steal from me. I know you read it, cause you signed it. Right here! 'No personal questions allowed.' <points in the most random direction, causing 4 minutes of absolute confusion>

Suddenly, almost as if I was making this up, Adam, (aka Tall & Sexy, Kouch, Adam, Big Slick, and the long kid that plays bass) slams the door shut, announcing his arrival. A big cloud of smoke begins to clear, while the theme music to Magnum P.I. plays in the background. Wearing nothing but a grass skirt, a stained bib from Red Lobster, stolen Ray Ban aviator sunglasses, and one of those stupid visors that guys like to think look cool on them, but are really getting laughed at by the rest of the band.

Adam- Hold the F#%'in press. As Rob's lawyer, I ask that my client be released immediately! Where is your evidence? He was with me the night in question! Do you know who my father is? He is a TV repair man!!!! He has awesome tools!

    Q. He is not being held against his will. I'm just doing an interview. Can I just ask him a few questions?

Rob- Don't you dare look at me like th...,

Adam- I'll take care of this Rob. <kicks Rob out of his chair> Anything you want to ask him, you can ask me. We hide nothing from each other. Its all a client confidentiality thing. You wouldn't understand! I'm having a hard time understanding it myself.

    Q. So, Adam?

Tall & Sexy- Call me Dr. Adam! Who is this guy?

    Q. I thought you said you were a lawyer? Rob's lawyer, is what you said.

Kouch- HA-HA! I didn't go to college for 2 months to fall for that one! Look at you...,

    Rob-Your Mom goes to college!

Adam- Rob please, I've got this under control.

    Q. Can we get back to the questions?

Big Slick- I don't know..., can we? <looking around for someone to high five>

    Q. What the heck are you wearing?

The long kid that plays bass- What the? Thats it! We are going to have to reschedule this thing. I have some videos I have to return.

Adam, or whatever you want to call him, gets up and storms outside, but grabs Rob by the arm to force him to fallow. I peeked out the open window to hear Adam and Rob's conversation, while Adam fixes his grass skirt. "What kind of nerve does that guy have?" Adam sounding distraught. "I mean, that was the most unprofessional interview I have ever been a part of!"

"Wasn't that the first interview that you have ever been a part of?" Rob, scratches his head.

"Exactly! And did you hear that question he asked about my clothes? I mean, COME ON! Did you see what he was wearing?" Adam asks Rob.

    "Yeah, it was pretty cool."

(Part 3) will be posted sometime, after all videos have safely been returned.
